Editorial Policy
How we research, write and correct content on UPCOS.IN.
Our sources
Articles and guides on this site are based on publicly available information: the official UPCOS website, government orders and circulars that are published publicly, and general knowledge of EPF/ESIC statutory rules as set by the relevant central schemes. Where we reference specific figures (contribution rates, wage ceilings), we aim to reflect the rules applicable at the time of writing.
Original writing
All explanatory content is written independently in our own words. We do not copy text from the official UPCOS website or other sources; where we describe an official process, it is our own paraphrase and interpretation for readability, not an official reproduction.
Independence
UPCOS.IN has no financial or organisational relationship with any outsourcing agency, government department, or the UPCOS corporation. We do not accept payment to feature or favourably describe any specific agency.
Accuracy & corrections
Government policy changes over time, and we may not always update every page immediately after a change. If you spot outdated or incorrect information, please tell us via Contact Us and we will review and correct it. We do not backdate corrections or hide the fact that a page has been updated.
Advertising vs. editorial content
Advertisements on this site are clearly served by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense) and are visually distinguishable from our editorial content. Advertising has no influence over what we choose to write about or how we describe the official UPCOS system.
Illustrative tools
Our Salary Calculator is explicitly labelled as an illustrative estimator, not an official payroll tool, and is built using commonly applicable statutory rates rather than any confidential or official data source.
